ORGANISERS of music night are hoping to hit the right note for a fundraising appeal.
Officials at The Witham, Barnard Castle's landmark town centre arts venue, are attempting to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds to pay for the complex's fixtures and fittings once a £4m renovation project is completed later this year.
Folk for Funds will be staged at the Parish Hall, Newgate, on Saturday, February 16.
Headlining will be Hadrian's Union, a duo from Cumbria and Northumberland. Support will come from local duo Pat Baldwin and John Snowball.
A Christmas folk music fundraising night added more than £330 to the fund.
Chris Clark, chairman of The Witham, said: “This is the second of our music events and we hope to organise some more over the coming months before we return to The Witham in the summer.”
Tickets are available from The Witham @ Woodleigh, Flatts Road, Barnard Castle or online at www.wegottickets.com (a booking fee is payable). Tickets are £8 in advance of £10 on the door. For telephone bookings, call 01833-631107.
