GRAVE THEFT A lantern was stolen from a grave at Hartlepool’s Stranton Cemetery between 12.30pm on Saturday February 2 and 11.30am on Sunday February 3. The blue lantern, with glass panels, was used to hold a candle. STOLEN LAWNMOWER A petrol lawnmower believed to have been stolen was recovered on Rievaulx Avenue in Billingham on Tuesday February 5. Police are now trying to trace its owner. FUN DAY Domestic abuse charity SODA is holding a fun day at Golden Boy Green in Southbank on Saturday February 16 from 10am to 3pm. It will feature free activities for children, information stands, tombola and a raffle. There will also be a sponsored ‘Walking on Broken Glass’ event.

TABLE TENNIS Two outdoor semi permanent table tennis tables in Middlesbrough’s Stewart Park and Albert Park will be unveiled on Saturday February 16. The public are invited to try out the sport at the launch event, taking place from 10am to 3pm. Other temporary tables will be set up around the town as part of the event.
