Kick off for new five-a-side football league in Barnard Castle

KICKING OFF: A new over-16s football league for five-a-side teams is being set up at Teesdale Leisure Centre, Barnard Castle. The league is part of Durham County Council’s On the Ball initiative and begins in March, with weekly fixtures both indoors and out and championship prizes for winners. A free taster session takes place on Thursday, February 28, between 6.30pm and 8.30pm at Teesdale Leisure Centre. OPEN MIC: An open mic night will be held at Butterknowle Village Hall on Sunday, February 24, from 7.30pm to 11pm. Admission is free and there will be a bar and refreshments available. Call 01388 710855 for more details.

ANNUAL MEETING: The AGM of Teesdale Community Broadcasting – which operates Radio Teesdale – will take place on Tuesday, February 26 at 6.30pm. The meeting will take place at Enterprise House, on the Harmire Industrial Estate, Barnard Castle.
