FAMILIES are invited to plant snowdrops in a County Durham park in memory of someone special who has died.

The Child Bereavement UK annual Snowdrop Walk will return to Hardwick Park in Sedgefield from noon to 3pm on Sunday, February 24.

Snowdrops will be available to buy and charity volunteers will be on hand to help with the planting in the picturesque grounds.

A Book of Remembrance donated by a bereaved family will also be available in a quiet corner for individual entries.

Children, meanwhile, can enjoy arts and crafts activities in the visitor centre, where refreshments will also be available.

Ann Chalmers, chief executive of Child Bereavement UK, said: “This is a special day in Child Bereavement UK’s calendar and the funds raised will go towards our vital work supporting grieving families when a child dies or is bereaved.

“We hope many people will come along to join us on the day.”

Entrance is free but donations will be gratefully received.
