Local author to give talk on new novel

AUTHOR TALK: Writer John Dean will give a talk about his latest novel To Honour the Dead at Darlington Library tomorrow (Saturday, February 9) at 11am. The event is free.
FAMILY CYCLE: A weekly bike ride aimed at children takes place in the West Park area of Darlington each Sunday. The ride meets at 10am near the West Park Play area, with bikes and helmets available to borrow. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
NEW YEAR: Darlington will celebrate Chinese New Year and the Year of the Snake with activities in Joseph Pease Place, in the town centre, on Monday, February 11, between 1pm and 2pm.
WARD SURGERY: The councillors for the North Road area of Darlington will hold ward surgery on Wednesday, February 13, at St Thomas Aquinas Church, between 1pm and 2pm.
GROUP WALK: The Darlington Ramblers will take part in a seven mile walk around Marske on Sunday, February 10. Walkers can meet at Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College at 10am or at the main car park in Marske at 10.45am. Call 01325-240306 for details.
