Chinese new year marked at Darlington nursery

YOUNGSTERS at a Darlington nursery immersed themselves in Oriental culture during a day of activities to celebrate Chinese new year.
Author and story-teller Adam Bushnell (correct) joined students at Borough Road Nursery, in Darlington, to mark Chinese year of the snake.
Durham-based Mr Bushnell said the children were interested in the subject, having done some preliminary work on it prior to the event.
About 50 pupils took part, taking the chance to make lanterns and sample Chinese food in the form of spring rolls.
Mr Bushnell is a regular visitor at the nursery and will return next term.
