Hartlepool's youngsters asked if their emotional and mental needs are being met

YOUNGSTERS in Hartlepool are being asked if their emotional and mental needs are being addressed.

Services to support the emotional and mental wellbeing of young people in the town are currently under scrutiny.

As part of a six month inquiry, Hartlepool Council is examining whether such services are effective or whether there are gaps in provision.

The council’s children’s services scrutiny forum will meet on Tuesday February 12 at 4.30pm.

Young people who use the town’s services and their families are being urged to attend the meeting and share their views.

Councillor Christopher Akers-Belcher, chair of the forum, said: “We must do our utmost to support our children and young people as they grow into adulthood.

“Some are under enormous pressure socially, mentally and emotionally and we would like to provide services that ensure that our children and young people are given the best help and support in all that they do."

The meeting will be held at the council chamber in Hartlepool Civic Centre.
