Witness appeal after tools stolen

AN investigation has been launched following a burglary at the Car Clinic, to the rear of Rough Lea Terrace, in Hunwick, overnight on Monday, February 4.

A black and red Clarke Mig welder and a snap on ratchet were stolen.

Witnesses or anyone who has been offered similar items are asked to call DC Steve Richards, at Bishop Auckland police station, on 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111.

PANCAKE FUN: There will be a pancake evening at the Micklegrove Centre, in Coundon, on Tuesday, February 12, at 7pm. Admission is £5 and there will be a tombola, raffle and entertainment. Proceeds will go St James Church funds. In addition, there will be a service for Ash Wednesday the following day at the church at 6pm.

VALENTINE’S DANCE: The Bill Goyder Quartet will be performing music from the 60s and 70s at a Valentine’s Dance in Gainford Village Hall, on Saturday, February 9, at 7.30pm. There will be a bar, supper and raffle. Tickets cost £10 and are available on 01325-730379 or 01325-730234.
