SWD Caterer signs five year contract to provide food to old people

A NATIONAL catering company has signed a five-year contract to supply catering to residents in extra care housing estates in the region.

Caterplus Services has been awarded the contract to supply food to 28 old people’s schemes across the country run by Hanover.

The company will supply food to schemes in Barnard Castle, Seaham, Consett, Spennymoor, Ouston and Brandon.

The contract will begin on April 1 and residents’ views were sought on the project during the planning stage.

Paul Robottom managing director of Caterplus, said: “We are delighted to be awarded this prestigious contract with Hanover.

“We will be working closely with the residents to ensure fresh, homemade and nutritious food using our regional suppliers is served.”

Tom Brown, Hanover’s head of operations north, said; “We’ve listened to residents’ views and it’s clear that residents really value their catering service.”
