FORD Transit vans around Darlington are being targeted by thieves who steal their spare wheels, according to Darlington police.
The wheels, which are stored underneath the vans, are being stolen during the night from parked vehicles around the town and the surrounding villages.
Police have asked drivers to be careful about where they park their vans and to consider placing the spare wheel within the vehicle.
