THE following cases were heard by South Durham Magistrates sitting at Darlington Magistrates' Court today (Tuesday, January 5):
ROBERT THOMPSON, 27, of Portland Place, Darlington, admitted being drunk while in charge of a pedal cycle in North Lodge Park on January 22 this year. He also pleaded guilty to one charge of theft after he stole £16.29 worth of food from Sainsbury’s on January 20. The case was adjourned until February 19 for sentencing and Thompson was given unconditional bail.
KARL TURNER, 31, of Dickenson Street, Darlington, admitted theft from a shop after he stole four bottles of Ariel washing gel and three multipacks of Mars bars, worth £26.95 altogether, from Sainsbury’s in Corporation Road on January 20 this year. The case was adjourned and Turner will return to Darlington Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, February 12 for sentencing.
CHRISTINE PERRIN, 26, of Oaklands Terrace, Darlington, admitted using threatening, abusive, and insulting word or behaviour with intent to cause fear of or provoke unlawful violence after she attempted to punch a police officer while she was drunk on January 20 this year. She was ordered to pay a £150 fine, £85 costs and £20 victim surcharge.
