POLICE have urged cyclists to register their bikes online to make it easier to track them down if they are stolen.

Following a number of high-value bike thefts around Darlington, police have recommended the website Bike Shepherd, which allows people to tag their bike and register its details in case of theft and to prevent it being sold on the second hand market.

The website also allows people to register the details of an untagged stolen bike.
