A WOULD-be burglar is being hunted after he was interrupted as he tried to break into a house.
The raider was using a crowbar to force his way through a downstairs window of a house in Middleton Tyas, near Richmond, North Yorkshire, when he was disturbed by the homeowner at about 11am today (Friday, February 1).
The raider fled from the property in Kneeton Park and was last seen getting into a grey Honda Civic.
He was described as in his 20s, with a slim face. He was wearing a beanie hat, a blue coat and blue denim jeans and officers are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Constable Karl Middlemiss said: “I am appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident to contact the police or Crimestoppers.
“I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw the grey Honda either before or after the incident occurred.”
Anyone with information should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option two and ask for Karl Middlemiss or Northallerton CID. To remain anonymous, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800-555111.
