A coming of age tale and a Sci-fi classic are the next Darlington Film Club screenings at The Forum in Darlington .The 2007 comedy drama, Son of Rambow, will be shown on February 4, followed on February 11 by the cult classic Alien. Both films start at 8pm and admission is £3.

HOT: A spicy fundraiser is taking place in Darlington’s Market Place on February 16 with the arrival of the Great Curry Cook Off. From noon to 2.30pm, three teams of soldiers, Gurkhas and military caterers will cook up curries to sell to shoppers who will then vote for their favourite. The event is in aid of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity and will also feature military music and the cadets with their climbing wall.

FOOTBALL: Youngsters can brush up their ball skills at the Dolphin Soccer School this Saturday from 9.30am to 11am. The weekly sessions are run by qualified coaches and are designed for children aged between four and seven. Contact 01325 388406 for more information and to book a place.
