POLICE have issued an urgent appeal for help after prescription drugs were stolen from a parked car.
Morphine, diamorphine and codeine were taken when the car was broken into on Manor Park, Harrogate, overnight between January 29 and 30.
The drugs were out of date and the owner had intended to return them to the chemist for destruction.
PC David Minto said: “As these are drugs which are only available by prescription they could prove extremely dangerous if they fall into the wrong hands.
“I urge whoever stole the drugs to hand them in to a local pharmacy where they can be safely destroyed.”
Anyone with information should contact police on 1010 and ask for David Minto. Alternatively e-mail david.minto@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk
