Sessions to help gofling novices get into the swing of things
3:03pm Wednesday 30th January 2013 in News By Stuart Laundy, Reporter (Barnard Castle & Teesdale)
DURHAM County Council is offering Teesdale golfing novices the chance to get into the swing of things.
Beginner sessions are being offered at Barnard Castle Golf Club and Headlam Hall, near Gainford.
They begin at the golf club on Saturday, February 23, between 1pm and 2.30pm, and on Sunday, February 24, at Headlam Hall between 10am and 11am.
Both courses run over six weeks, cost £18 and include the use of equipment and instruction.
George Richardson, senior sport and physical activity officer with Durham County Council, said: “This is a great opportunity to learn technique, new skills and to meet new people.
“Last year these sessions proved extremely popular, with many of those taking part playing golf regularly and carrying on to join a club."
To book at place at the Barnard Castle course call Darren Pearce on 01833-631980.
To book at Headlam Hall, contact Steven Carpenter at Headlam Hall on 01325-732113.
