A CRICKET club in Teesdale has been given a fresh lick of paint ready for the new season.
Barnard Castle CC took advantage of Colouring the Community, a scheme run by Dulux Decoration Centres to help local groups maintain their facilities.
The cricket club, which runs three senior and five junior teams, needed to spruce up its changing facilities and umpires' room following last year's washout summer.
Club volunteers got to work and repainting was completed over two weeks.
The club's John Walker said: “The paint donation has made a huge difference to our facilities.
“Our club is run on a tight budget and we didn’t think we’d be able to transform the club in this way.
“We hope by showing our players that we continue to develop and invest in our club, it will inspire them to do the same.”
Carla Howie, manager of Dulux Decorator Centres in Darlington, said: “The summer weather was a complete washout and it certainly left its mark on the club’s changing rooms. We were only too happy to help.”
