Man denies sexually assaulting children

A DARLINGTON man has appeared in court charged with historic sexual offences against children. Married father Paul Needham, of Hartington Way, faces six counts of rape as well as eight counts of indecent assault and eight counts of indecency with a child. Mr Needham, 62, who was arrested in relation to the charges in November 2011, pleaded not guilty to all counts. Prosecutor Deborah Sherwin told Teesside Crown Court that Mr Needham denied all allegations. The trial, presided over by Judge Howard Crowson, continues tomorrow.
