Accused appears before magistrates on attempted murder charge

A MAN has appeared before magistrates charged with attempted murder.
Martin Clarkson did not enter a plea when he appeared in connection with an alleged incident which took place in Redcar over the weekend, in which a 34-year-old woman was left with serious head and facial injuries.
The 59-year-old, from The Fleet, Redcar, was remanded in custody until his next court appearance at Teesside Crown Court on February 5.
Police are still appealing for witnesses to come forward following the alleged attack which is said to have happened at about 7pm on Saturday (JAN 26) on Danby Dale Avenue, Redcar.
