ZUMBA GOLD: Age UK is running a series of fitness classes. On Wednesdays at 10.30am there will be line dancing classes at Thornborough Hall; and on Thursdays at 11am there will be pilates at the hall. At 1.30pm on Thursdays there will be Zumba Gold at Leyburn Methodist Hall. Classes cost between £3 and £5 and booking is essential. QUIZ NIGHT: There will be a quiz night at the King’s Arms in Sandhutton on Sunday, February 3 from 7.30pm. Entry is £5 and includes supper. Proceeds will go towards St Leonard’s Church.
CHARITY CONCERT: Northallerton Silver Band will be giving a charity concert in Northallerton Town Hall on Friday, February 22 at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £6 and are available from Greensleeves, in the Central Arcade in the town or by calling 01609-777272. The concert is in aid of the Mayor’s charities, the Silver Band and Young Carers. The event is supported by Barclays Bank PLC Northallerton.
HISTORY MEETING: Bedale Archaeology and History Society will meet in Bedale Hall at 7.30pm on Tuesday, February 5, for a talk and exhibition by Eileen Brereton and Anne Wall on Local Red-Cross hospitals 1914 – 18. Non-members are welcome for £2 on the door, and children and full-time students go free. Subscriptions for 2013 have been held at £12 and cover 11 monthly talks and, in July, a guided walk of Ripon.
