Community hub in Thorntree to hold open day

OPEN DAY: The Community Hub at Thorntree, near Middlesbrough, will hold an open day on Thursday, January 31 from 9am to 6pm. Activities include craft making sessions, face painting, soup making lessons and an appearance from Peppa Pig.

RECYCLING CHANGES: Hartlepool Borough Council is changing the way it collects refuse and recycling. From April, refuse collection will take place from Tuesday to Friday rather than Monday to Friday. Households will receive a new wheeled recycling bin that will replace existing white and blue bags. Delivery of the new bins will begin on February 25. For more information visit

HISTORY TALK: A talk entitled ‘Wynyard – The History of a Great House’ will be hosted by the Long Newton History Group at the Wilson Centre in Long Newton from 7pm on Wednesday, February 13. Entrance for non-members is £2 and includes refreshments.

COMMUNITY HUB: An open morning at the new Community Hub in Grove Hill, Middlesbrough will take place on Saturday, February 2 from 10am to noon. Activities include cooking demonstrations, calendar making, face painting and children’s music making. Free refreshments will be provided.
