POLICE have issued an alert after antibiotics made for animal use were stolen from a farm.
A number of outbuildings at Garthorne Farm, in Archdeacon Newton, near Darlington, were burgled at about 1am on Sunday, January 27.
Among the items stolen were a 100ml bottle of Norocline 24, batch number 2272/604, and a 60ml bottle of Hexasol LA, batch number 2235/20, which are designed for use on cattle.
PC Carole Weightman, who is investigating the break in, has warned that if the drugs were consumed or injected by humans they could cause serious illness or side-effects.
An old copper boiler and five lengths of copper piping were also stolen during the incident.
Anyone with information about the burglary, the stolen animal antibiotics or those responsible is urged to contact PC Weightman at Darlington Police via the non-emergency number 101.
