IMAGES of two laughing drunks involved in trouble on a train have been released by police.

British Transport Police are trying to find the men who they believe to be from the Yarm area.

The fight involved two gropus of men on the TransPennine Express train on Saturday, January 19.

The train, heading to Teesside, was between Thirsk and Northallerton when the trouble occurred between 8.30pm and 9pm.

A punch was thrown by one of the men who was thrown off the train with some of the others at Northallerton.

BTP officers have now released CCTV images of two of the men, thought to be from Yarm.

Investigating officer PC Ryan Griffiths said: “An off-duty police officer was travelling on the TransPennine Express service when he intervened in a disturbance between two groups of intoxicated men on the train.

“One of the men is then alleged to have punched a member of the opposing group; he was then ejected from the train at Northallerton station with his friends.

“I am keen to identify the men in these images as they are believed to have information which could assist.

“We believe they may reside in the Yarm area.”
