THREE people were arrested after two men were taken to hospital with facial injuries.

Cleveland Police has appealed for information into the attack after the men, all in their 20s, were held on suspicion of assault.

Detectives were called to the Thomas Street and Beaumont Road area of North Ormesby, near Middlesbrough just before 9am on Saturday, January 26.

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE: Stainton-in-Cleveland Women’s Institute has held its first meeting of the New Year. The group played games as well as conducting business. The group’s next meeting on Thursday, February 14 at 1.30pm will be open to visitors and Andrew Hall will demonstrate his skills as a woodturner. BINGO NIGHT: A bingo night will be held at St William’s Church Hall, South Avenue, Dormanstown, Redcar at 7pm on Wednesday, January 30. Eyes down at 7pm. All welcome. There will also be a pie and peas night at the same venue on Saturday, March 2 at 7.30pm. FUNKY FIT: Stockton Council has launched ‘funky’ gymnastics and football  sessions for two to four-year-olds. Funky gymnastics costs £2 and takes place every Friday at the New Life Children Centre, Low Grange Avenue, Billingham from 1pm-1.45pm and 2pm-2.45pm. Funky football costs £1 and takes place every Tuesday at Frederick Nattrass Children Centre, Darlington Lane, Norton from 1pm-1.45pm and 2pm-2.45pm.
