A VOLUNTEER group which fundraises to provide rehabilitation and activities to people in hospital has raised money for a children’s ward.
The Heartbeat Group was formed 16 years ago and now has more than 200 members who provide support to people who have suffered cardiac or other life-threatening problems and might find exercise or physical activity could help them improve.
The Heartbeat Group is part of the The Friends of Darlington Memorial Hospital, which provides the administrative side of the group’s work.
A Christmas collection organised by the group raised more than £200, which was presented to the hospital’s children’s ward.
The money will be used to buy some new toys for the playroom.
