BIRD WATCH: The Royal Horticultural Society garden Harlow Carr, Harrogate, is hosting a Big Garden Bird Watch, supported by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, to join in with the world’s largest bird survey.

There will be guided bird walks of the garden and the RSPB will be sharing bird watching knowledge and answering questions.

The event will take place on Saturday (January 26) from 10am until 4pm.

COOKERY SCHOOL: Betty’s Cookery School in Harrogate has launched new classes for the New Year.

The entertaining mini practical focuses on creating a three course meal in a three and a half hour class.

The course runs on February 28 and April 4 from 9am to 12.30pm and 6pm to 9.30pm and costs £100, including breakfast or an evening snack.
