Trimdon man apologises for vomiting and sleeping on Ferryhill bakery floor while drunk
A MAN who vomited in a bakery before falling asleep on the shop floor while drunk has been given a conditional discharge by magistrates.
Kenneth Robson said he has no recollection of the incident at 11.35am on January 7 but said it must have happened due to the number of witnesses who saw him.
Prosecutor David Maddison said police were called to the Greggs bakery in Ferryhill where they found Robson asleep on the floor next to his own vomit.
Mr Maddison said Robson was woken and taken home and that no members of staff or customers reported him as being abusive towards them.
Robson, 31, who lives in a care home in Trimdon Grange, said he has had a problem with alcohol and when he drinks he blacks out.
He said he is battling his problems and is doing much better now.
Robson said: “I am not excusing what happened or trying to justify what I did, I accept it was me, I’m really sorry.”
“I should know before having a drink I lose my inhibitions.”
Magistrates gave him a conditional discharge for six months and ordered him to pay £50 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
