A GROUP of hardy postmen are refusing to let a little thing like freezing temperatures get in the way of their charity challenge.
They are exposing their legs to the elements and despite the snow and ice plan to continue to wear shorts until the end of the month.
Five Malton workmates agreed to wear shorts to work to raise funds for Ryedale Special Families and with just over a week to go, they are having a final push towards their target of £1,500.
Andy Summers, from Bulmer, came up with the idea to thank the charity for the support it has given his family.
He said: “We have done previous fundraisers for Ryedale Special Families which is such a fantastic charity.
“As a family we don’t know what we would do without them.”
The postmen taking part in the challenge are Paul Ballantyne, Chris Cooke, Clive Mills, Barry Hood, and Michael Allen, along with Mr Summers.
Donations can be made at www.justgiving.com/maltonposties2012, or text to 70070 quoting MALT99 £5 to donate £5.
