A NEW campaign aimed at ensuring vulnerable people get the help and support they need and deserve has been launched in North Yorkshire.

The aim of the campaign – which involves widespread use of posters and publicity material - is to make people aware of the importance of promoting dignity and respect.

It was launched by the county council, in partnership with a wide range of organisations and agencies, at a conference in Harrogate, attended by some 160 delegates representing more than 90 organisations.

Delegates had the opportunity to broaden their understanding of the support available to organisations and vulnerable adults, by attending workshops led by health, district councils, trading standards, social care staff, and independent providers.

The county’s executive member for health and adult services, Clare Wood, said: “This showed that there is a genuine multi-agency commitment to support vulnerable people within North Yorkshire.”
