Work delayed: Work to resurface and reconstruct Sussex street in Bedale has been postponed because of bad weather. The road was due to be closed on consecutive Sundays January 20 and 27 so the work could be carried out. A new date is being agreed with contractors.
Crime warning: Police are warning householders to be on the alert in Bedale after an increase in house and non-dwelling burglaries in the past month. Anyone who would like crime prevention information and advice should call into the town’s police office, or phone North Yorkshire police on 101. Bedale town council was told overall since April burglaries in the area are down 67 per cent.
