FANS of the Yorkshire Dales National Park are being invited to get more active in helping to promote it on the internet.

Volunteers are needed to join a focus group that will have a big say in the look and content of the park authority website.

Stuart Willis, the authority’s web officer, said: “We are planning to re-organise the site and add lots of images so it’s easier to find information and more enjoyable to look at.

“We also want to make the site more interactive, with lots of opportunities for visitors to feed back about the National Park and to provide content for the site, for example by submitting photographs, videos and comments.

“We set up a small focus group in 2009 when re-designing the website at the time and I think it would be a good idea to re-establish that now to collect opinions.

“We have reached a point where some fairly major work is necessary to take the website to the next stage.

Details about the focus group and how to join can be found at www.yorkshiredales.org.uk/web-focus-group.

There is currently an online survey running to find out what people think of the website, with the chance of winning a £50 hamper from Kettlewell Village Store.

The survey at www.yorkshiredales.org.uk/websurvey closes on March 31.
