Inmate attacked at Full Sutton prison near York

AN investigation has been launched after an inmate at a jail holding some of Britain’s most dangerous criminals was stabbed. The Ministry of Justice has confirmed that the prisoner was stabbed by another inmate at Full Sutton, the top security jail near York, at about 4pm in Monday. The injured man was taken to a hospital outside the prison complex for treatment for a stomach wound and was returned to the jail later that night. Police and the prison service are both conducting their own investigations.
