A CREDIT union is urging more people to find out more about what it offers the community as it prepares to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
The Tees Credit Union, which covers Stockton, Yarm, Thornaby, Billingham, Ingleby Barwick, Norton and Eaglescliffe, has more than 1,800 members.
Volunteer and TCU board member, Sheila Parnaby, staffs the collection point at South Thornaby Community and Resource Centre each Wednesday.
The 56-year-old volunteer, who has been volunteering with the Credit Union for more than 12 years, said: “Many years ago I was involved with a local residents’ group and through going into the Community Centre a lot I got to know about the Credit Union and it started from there. I was asked to join the board and I have volunteered from then on.”
