A NEW state-of-the-art fire station will have the community at its heart.

The station is set to replace Middlesbrough’s Park Road South and will provide an emergency response service.

The complex will also provide space for local residents to access community services and provide activities for local children at a mini fire station.

Cleveland Fire Brigade are now inviting members of the public to view plans of the proposed new station.

Consultation events will be held at the Park Road South station on Thursday, January 24 from 11am to 3pm and Friday, January 25 from 3pm to 6pm. Members of staff will be on hand to answer questions about the proposals.

Ian Hayton, chief fire officer with Cleveland Fire Brigade, said: “Our vision for the future of this new community fire station is one of flexibility and versatility, so the brigade and its partner organisations can provide first class facilities and services to support local needs.

“We see this station being at the heart of the community, as local residents will be able to utilise the facilities as well as enabling us to offer educational opportunities and to work more closely with schools and the community.”

Those unable to attend the open days can view the plans at Clevelandfire.gov.uk/myvoice from Thursday.
