A PROMISING young band will make their debut at a New Year’s Eve show in a North-East venue.

The Innocent Wrecks, whose members are aged between 13 and 16, will play at the Forum Music Centre, in Darlington.

The group was brought together as the result of two showcase nights at the Forum, featuring performances from music students who are taught at the centre, in Borough Road.

Three judges watched all the students perform over the two nights in June; and invited the winners to form the new group, who have been mentored to perform on New Year’s Eve, at The Forum’s New Years Eve party.

The group will play a set consisting of covers from the likes of Foo Fighters, Pink and Kelly Clarkson.

The band members are: Emily Fenwick, Scarlett Fletcher (lead and backing vocals), Anna Wilson (bass and backing vocals), Dylan Graham and James Dryburgh (guitars), and Matthew Wilkinson (drums).

Also chosen in the showcase in June were an established band to perform at New Year. The winning group was The Tenants, a Darlington-based blues rock band, who perform a mix of old school blues, through to hard rock and modern pop.

The band are Alex Porritt (guitar/vocals), Dan Millward (bass) and Ben McDermott (drums).

Headlining the event are Darlington group Skybabies (CORR), with local singer / songwriter Hayley McKay also performing.

Tickets cost £12, including food. To book, call 01325-363135.
