A HOSPITAL worker is in good health after winning a car in a charity draw.
Baljit Hubery, a medical secretary at Darlington Memorial Hospital, is the owner of a new Vauxhall Corsa after her ticket was chosen in a Darlington Rotary Club draw.
The draw was made by Darlington MP, Jenny Chapman, and raised more than £5,000, which will be donated to local causes by the Rotary Club.
Mrs Hubery said: “I never imagined I would win because it was more about supporting a good cause, and I couldn’t believe it when my ticket was drawn.
“Anyone who knows me would say I am never stuck for words but on this occasion I was speechless.”
The car was supplied by Darlington dealership Sherwoods, and its managing director Alasdair MacConachie, who is also a Rotary member, said he was delighted to have offered the prize.
