Bakery's window display is a festive hit

SHOPPERS at a patisserie shop have been commenting on its festive window display.

Robineau Patisserie, in Darlington, has a display featuring a family of penguins – made out of 25kg of gingerbread and icing – frolicking in the snow.

Owner Jane Robineau said: “This is our sixth Christmas since we opened and we have always done a beautiful, hand-made Christmas window display.

“It has got to the stage where people come to look at the window – we keep it a closely-guarded secret.”

Mrs Robineau likened the window display to that of Newcastle department store Fenwick’s, albeit on a more modest scale.
