A CHARITY that promotes the health and well-being of elderly people opened its doors to the public for a 1960s themed fun day.

The event, at their Age UK’s Beaumont Street West premises, in Darlington, on Wednesday (December 19), included 1960s music and games, while staff, customers and volunteers dressed in hippy attire.

Multiple fun days are organised every year by the Darlington-based organisation. Past themes have included the Wild West, with real horses.

Sue White the registered care manager, said: “Every open day we try to make it a memorable experience for everyone.”

Liz Pearson, a carer who took part in the event, said that it was “absolutely fabulous”.
