School footballers celebrate success

MEMBERS of a school five a-side football team are celebrating after winning through to the regional finals of a competition.
Five schools took part in the recent annual Darlington schools year seven five a-side tournament, at the Education Village.
Among the star performers was Hurworth School’s girls side, who won all four of their games, scoring 15 goals and conceding just one.
The other schools taking part were Longfield, St Aidan’s, Hummersknott and the Education Village itself.
Hurworth girls have qualified for the county final, to be held in January, at the Louisa Centre, in Stanley.
