POLICE are appealing for information following a single vehicle road accident in which a 61-year-old man died.
The accident happened at about 8.25am on Sunday, December 16, and involved a black Vauxhall Meriva on the B1263 heading towards the A16 near East Cowton, Northallerton. The car left the road and hit a tree.
The driver of the Meriva, from the Richmond area, died. He has yet to be named.
Traffic Constable Reece Williams said: “If you were in the area at the time of the collision and may have seen the Vauxhall Meriva just prior to the incident I ask that you contact the police straight away as you may have information that could help the investigation.”
