Volunteers sought to help with Staindrop speed survey
12:43pm Monday 17th December 2012 in News By Stuart Laundy, Reporter (Barnard Castle & Teesdale)
VOLUNTEERS are being sought to help carry out a speed survey along a busy village lane.
At the latest Police and Communities Together (PACT) meeting in Staindrop, near Barnard Castle, residents voiced concerns about the speed of motorists travelling along the B6274 Winston Road.
The issue was made a police priority and monitoring of speeds will be carried out during the coming weeks.
Sgt Simon Rogers, of Barnard Castle Police, said volunteers were needed to work alongside CPSOs, who operate the flashing matrix signs, and duties could include logging car registration numbers.
Anyone interested in helping should contact Barnard Castle police on 101.
