MP on hand to open revamped building society branch

A REFURBISHED building society in Darlington has been opened by the town’s MP.

Jenny Chapman visited Darlington Building Society’s branch in Tubwell Row, in the town centre, on Friday (December 14).

The society has made a substantial investment in upgrading the branch office.

After unveiling a commemorative plaque Mrs Chapman said: “This magnificent refurbished branch enhances even further Darlington Building Society’s reputation for looking after local interests.

“This new-look facility demonstrates the Society’s commitment to the town where it was formed over 150 years ago and also represents a significant investment in its own future and that of its customers and staff.”

Building society chief executive David Dodd said: “Customer feedback on our new look branch has been very positive and we look forward to welcoming customers old and new to this wonderful Darlington town centre facility.”

Smuggler says...

Why spend money on the branch when it is always "quiet" in other words there are not many customers compared with the other"banks"!Is it because their interest rates are so poor? And why are they not competitive.maybe it is because they are too involved in the property market themselves?
