THE commercial manager of a farm supply business has retired after 41 years with the company.
Tony Simpson has stood down from Farmway, in Piercebridge, near Darlington.
Mr Simpson began working as a trainee at the Stokesley branch in 1971 and has travelled all around Europe for the company.
An avid Middlesbrough supporter, he received a leaving dinner and signed football shirt presented by former Boro player Steve Vickers.
Mr Simpson said: “I have greatly enjoyed my time with Farmway. I will cherish all of the friendships I have made.”
Company chairman John Seymour said: “I have worked closely with Tony for many years. I would like to thank him and wish him a long and happy retirement.”
