POPULAR Darlington rock band Skybabies (CORR) will be bringing their own versions of classic rock hits to a New Year’s Eve party at The Forum Music Centre, in Borough Road, Darlington. The band will perform covers from the likes of Green Day, Foo Fighters and the Killers. Skybabies are the closing act on a bill which also includes The Tenants, Hayley McKay and The Innocent Wrecks. There are also DJs, drinks promotions and food included in the ticket price of £12. Advanced tickets are recommended, and children from 14 to 17 years are welcome, as long as accompanied by an adult. BEAT THE BLUES: Darlington Samaritans will be offering people tips and advice on how to avoid depression at Christmas, in High Row, from 10am to noon, on Saturday (December 15).

FESTIVE FUN: Youngsters from a number of schools in Darlington have decorated Christmas trees for a Christmas tree festival, at St Columba’s Church’s Clifton Centre, in Clifton Road, Darlington, this weekend. The event runs from 10.30am to 4pm on Saturday (December 15) and 2pm to 4pm on Sunday. Admission is free.

CHURCH TIMES: Holy Communion will be held at All Saints Church, in Hurworth, at 8am, on Sunday (December 16). It will be followed by morning worship at 10.30am and a carol service at 6pm.
