STUDENTS at Richmond School showed there was no place like home in a special matinee performance of the Wizard of Oz for primary school pupils, care home residents and former students.
The 134-strong cast and crew impressed their audience on Wednesday (December 12) ahead of the opening night on Thursday – the last night is tonight (Saturday, Dec 15) and is close to selling out.
Leader of Community Arts Ian Henderson said: “We always do a matinee performance for local primary schools and it is always good to see pupils who want to get involved when they move up to secondary school.
“It creates a real buzz in the school every year and I am extremely proud of the cast and all the backstage crew – the children have done everything from designing and making costumes to sound and lighting and making the programme.
“The Wizard of Oz is a real family favourite and everyone has done a superb job in bringing it together.”
