A BRAVE cancer sufferer put her best feet forward for a sponsored charity walk.
Sharon Whitfield, from Redworth, near Darlington, donned her Father Christmas outfit and was joined by around 20 friends for a 3km Santa Run in Hardwick Park, near Sedgefield.
Sharon, 42, who has stage four cancer, raised about £900 for Butterwick Hospice, which included more than £560 from her friend Zoe Kent.
She said: “I’m delighted by how much we raised, and especially thankful to Zoe who has been absolutely awesome.
“I managed to walk most of the way and I really chuffed with that.
“I just wanted to give something back to charity and this walk was a great way to do that.”
She added friends were also looking at running the Great North Run to raise further funds for the cause.
