Hotel's video continues John Lewis snowman's story

AN advert has continued the story of the John Lewis snowman who went on an epic journey to buy his girlfriend the perfect gift.

The television advert for the department store chain has been melting hearts up and down the country this Christmas.

Now, five-star Rockliffe Hall Hotel, near Darlington, has created its own advert, which imagines the next step in the story.

The hotel’s video, available to watch on YouTube, sees the snowman marry his frosty bride in a ceremony conducted by Santa.

Local singer, Ellie Holmes, 14, is featured on the clip singing a cover of Frankie Goes to Hollywood song 'The Power of Love.'

The video, which has had more than 900 views since it went online on December 11, has been created by the staff at Rockcliffe Hall.

The hotel’s marketing co-ordinator, Debbie Rocket, said: "We liked the TV advert and the story and we just wanted to finish the snowman's journey at Rockcliffe Hall with a festive celebration.

"We made the snowmen ourselves, it didn't take long, we used some chicken wire and covered it in white material.

"The response we've had so far from it has been really good.”
