THE following cases were heard at Darlington Magistrates' Court today (Thursday, December 13):

* Colin Nicholson, 43, of Charles Street, Darlington, pleaded not guilty to affray and possessing a knife in a public place.

The charges relate to an incident in Charles Street on November 16.

Nicholson was bailed to re-appear at Darlington Magistrates’ Court on February 7, when the case will be committed to Teesside Crown Court.

* Dean Signori, 32, of Sutcliffe Court, Darlington, pleaded not guilty to producing cannabis on June 6.

His case was committed to Teesside Crown Court and will be heard on a date yet to be fixed. He was given unconditional bail.

* Steven Mitchell, 29, of Lime Avenue, Darlington, denied a charge of common assault after an incident in the town on August 10.

His case was adjourned until Thursday, December 20, when the case will be heard at Darlington Magistrates’ Court.

* Luke Jackson, 22, of Hutton Avenue, Darlington, denied using a mobile phone while driving and failing to produce his driving licence to police after being stopped in his Vauxhall Corsa on Church Street, Darlington, on August 18.

His trial will take place on March 21 in Darlington Magistrates’ Court.
