CHARITY CARDS: A Dales village has opened a pop-up shop to take part in a national scheme to sell Christmas cards on behalf of a number of charities.
Cards for Good Causes (CFGC) has opened a store in the Dales Countryside Museum in Hawes, and will be selling a wide range of cards, wrapping and gift tags for 28 different charities.
Shops are also open in Richmond, Bishop Auckland, Barnard Castle, Thirsk and Durham.
The shop is run by local volunteers, and is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm.
Charities receive at least 75p in every pound from card sales, and the retained amount covers CFGC’s costs of running the temporary charity Christmas card shops.
