A chef who has worked in some of the best known restaurants in the region has taken over the Woodman Inn in Burneston near Bedale. Carl Tinkler who worked in the Black Bull at Moulton and Potto Hall, near Stokesley ran a restaurant in southern Spain for eight years but missed North Yorkshire. He’s taken over the restaurant with his wife Alyn, and after extensive renovations relaunched it introducing new menus including a party and wedding catering service.

The traditional Tuesday market in Bedale is being turned into a Christmas event with carols and music by the High School choir and band in the town centre December 18th .
